A good acoustic tone is very personal and different strings compliment guitars differently. We have picked the following brands of strings as they represent a comprehensive selection of tones and will attempt to list the relative differences objectively so you can make a informed decision.

For the majority who prefers a sparkly modern tone, the Elixir strings are your best bet. They are the longest lasting strings in the market and sound great over many months even in the most humid weather. If you're never too particular about strings, we will strongly recommend these as they compliement most guitars extremely well.

Players who find the Elixir strings too bright and metallic to their liking will prefer the D'addario EXP which sports a more woody tone with slightly less pronounced trebles. Guitars voiced to sound less modern (Think Martin, Larrivee, Santa Cruz) will likely pair better with these strings.

Similar to the EXPs, the Martin Lifespan strings have a less modern tone and are the most natural (woody) sounding of the pack. Players who like a deeper bass response over the EXPs will find these a joy to play with. They however generally do not last as long unless coated with string cleaners.

For electric strings, the Everlys gives a fuller tone but typically don't last half as long as the Elixirs which will go rust-free for well over 6 months.

The following strings will be delivered by post to your residence within 2 days upon payment. Postage is FREE for Singapore residents.
